NHI Pumped-hydro Energy Storage Double Shield TBM Successfully Initiated
On August 30, the "Longxing" pumped-hydro energy storage dual shield TBM, which was jointly designed and manufactured by NHI and Power China Wuhan Heavy Equipment Co.,Ltd, have initiated smoothly at the ecological protection and urban and rural water supply integration project site in Aksai County of Gansu Province, NHI was invited to participate in the ceremony, the project has been included in 172 major national water conservancy projects.
The excavation diameter of "Longxing" is 4.87 meters, the length of the whole machine is about 300 meters, the total weight is about 1000 tons, the installed power is 3600 kilowatts, the design maximum excavation speed is 120 mm/min, and the equipment has the characteristics of fast excavation speed, less over-digging, high environmental safety guarantee rate and low environmental pollution. It fully meets the construction requirements of fast tunnel construction, high quality, high efficiency, safety, environmental protection and high degree of integration, and also fully demonstrates the core competitiveness of NHI in the design and manufacture of TBM in the field of high altitude long tunnel.
The average elevation of the site is nearly 3,100 meters. In order to ensure a smooth advancement, the technical service team of the NHI has worked hard to overcome the adverse factors such as scare oxygen at high altitude, and practiced the practical spirit of " cut paths through mountains and build bridges across rivers ", continued to optimize and improve the TBM assembly program, eliminated the adverse conditions and external factors. Starting from the installation site on August 1, starting power transmission and commissioning on August 20, and then formally initiated on August 30, it is only been a month that the TBM and continuous belt machine on-site assembly and commissioning tasks were all safely and smoothly completed. It fully showed the heroic style and responsibility of the staff of NHI who "lack of oxygen while is not lack of spirit, harsh of works while not say hard ".
It is reported that after the completion of the ecological protection and urban-rural water supply integration project in Aksai County, it will provide reliable water sources for Dunhuang City, Aksai County, Subei County farmers and herdsmen production and life and ecological protection. It will significantly improve the local water supply security capability, effectively curb the eastern encroachment of Kumtag Desert, and build an ecological security barrier in the western part of the country.
